Job Description
Amend Business Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Negotiator to join our Debt Settlement team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for clients, helping them navigate financial challenges by negotiating and structuring effective debt settlement plans.
Responsibilities
- Client Communication: Engage with clients in a professional, empathetic, and confidential manner to understand their financial situation
- Negotiation: Negotiate directly with creditors and collection agencies to settle debts for less than the full amount owed. You will work to build rapport with creditors to obtain the best settlements for our clients' unsecured debt
- Case Management: Manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and deadlines are met. Confirm important file dates, due dates, and hearing dates are not missed
- Strategic Planning: Analyze client financials and review client banking accounts to determine the necessary funds to complete settlements and payment of company fees. Develop and present effective and realistic debt settlement strategies
- Collaboration & Legal Support: Work independently and effectively with internal and external legal support staff to resolve lawsuits filed against our clients. You will also contact attorney offices to negotiate on the clients' behalf to avoid judgment, garnishment, or liens. You'll work closely with the team and other departments to ensure a seamless client experience and to achieve company goals
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records of all client interactions, negotiations, and agreements in the company's CRM. Update notes and inform attorney liaisons of settlement offers on assigned legal accounts
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and relevant industry regulations regarding debt settlement practices. Follow all department and company policies and procedures, including personnel policies and expectations outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Performance & KPIs: While all Negotiations Department members will have a minimum number of monthly settlements required for their position, KPI's are subject to change monthly based on business needs. KPIs include but are not limited to: Number of Settlements, Settlement Percentage (original & verified), Completion Rate, Penetration Rate, QC fails, Quality metrics (Call Monitoring, Account Accuracy), number of calls made, Talk Time, and other metrics measuring the work effort. KPI expectations will be provided to Negotiators by the 3rd business day of each month
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a negotiation or sales role, preferably within a financial or customer service environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Unrelenting ability to follow up on escalated matters, seeking resolution every step of the way
- Close attention to detail and ability to apply policies, procedures, and guidelines to a variety of situations
- A high degree of initiative, focus, and urgency
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- High level of integrity and professional conduct
- Ability to handle escalated calls regarding the legal process, provide outstanding customer service, and guidance without giving legal advice
